The Hometown Hero

I’m going to start off with the fact that I cannot stand LSU. Their team is usually overrated, they never have an offense, and their fans generally seem to piss me off. However, their once redeeming factor to me is their amazing head coach, Ed Orgeron. Is he the best head coach in college football? No. Do LSU fans want him as a coach? Probably not. But is he living any kid’s dream? Absolutely!

The Bayou Beast was born in Larose, Louisiana and you could tell it from a mile away. Growing up as a massive LSU fan, his dream was always to become the next great Tiger coach. However, his journey didn’t start there as he had many different head coaching jobs, most notably as the head coach of Ole Miss, where he was known as one of the worst SEC coaches of all time. He was (to nobody’s surprise) fired and ended up being Southern Cal (the fake USC)’s interim head coach where he did surprisingly well. He eventually took a d-line coaching spot at his dream school and within a year, was promoted to head coach.

Now why did I choose Coach O if I don’t think he’s too good at his job? It’s pretty easy, he’s living his dream and enjoying every minute of it. Even though he’s only on a year to year contract and could get fired any moment, his players love him, the fans (generally) like him, and he still comes off as the happiest member of the Duck Dynasty family you’ve ever seen and you have to tip your cap to the man for that. You’re the man Bé Bé!
