In honor of it being so close to kickoff, Front Porch Football is counting down the Top 10 Greatest Moments/Plays in SEC Football since 2010. These plays are selected not only because of their significance, but also because of how insane, bizarre, and epic the moment was. With that being said, we are 7 Days from Kickoff so here is the 7th best play since 2010.
October 9, 2010. Alabama at South Carolina.
This was one of the few times in the Saban Era where Alabama looked human. In fact, this loss is tied with only two other games for largest margin of defeat handed to a Nick Saban-coached Alabama football team. This was the play that clinched the game for the Gamecocks. South Carolina would go on to score and ride a 14 point advantage off into the sunset.
It was also the first time in program history that South Carolina beat a top-ranked opponent, and it helped nudge the Gamecocks towards their first SEC East Title since joining the conference in 1992. This game not only changed how South Carolina was viewed as a football program, but it also opened the eyes of the Alabama program on what it would take to be King of the SEC.
