Faces of the South: Hank Davis

Name: Hank Davis

Hometown: Greenville, SC (YEAH, that Greenville) technically, but I call Columbia, SC my true hometown.

College Team(s): The Clemson University Tigers and my Wofford College Terriers!!

Occupation: Senior Associate, Client Relations at DDC Public Affairs in Washington, D.C.

Favorite Game Day Ritual: Chick-Fil-A nuggets trays and all the Busch Light you can put away. Aside from the tailgate libations, the most exciting 25 seconds in college football – Clemson running down the hill onto Frank Howard Field in the REAL Death Valley always gets my blood pumping!

Cornhole – Over or Underrated?: Overrated for sure. Stump is the game of choice for me.

Favorite Battlefield: Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, northwestern Maryland. As beautiful as the surroundings may be today, it is hard to grasp that on this hallowed ground, 23,000 soldiers were killed, wounded or missing after twelve hours of savage combat during the American Civil War. It was the single Bloodiest Day in American History. Be sure to check out my post about it on Instagram using #HistoryWithHank

Matthew McConaughey or Clint Eastwood:  Clint Eastwood hands down. Being classic never goes out of style.

Best gameday experience ever: As much as this pains me to say by going against Wofford and Clemson, My wife Ashlee and I had the opportunity to attend the Penn State vs. App. State game in Happy Valley last year. If you recall, that game went into OT and it was amazing to see how intense all of the fans from both teams were.

There were so many momentum swings and so much raw emotion being played out on the field. I will never forget the celebration of the home team once they put the game away, it was special to be a part of. Also, the tailgating scene at PSU rivals anything in the South (and that’s coming from a Southerner)!

Favorite delegate on Campus Union: Mrs. Ashlee Davis, of course! Close second by less than a millimeter: Miss Elizabeth Ramsey
