These plays are selected not only because of its significance, but also because of how insane, bizarre, and epic the moment was. With that being said, we are 10 Days from Kickoff so here is the 10th best play since 2010.
January 1, 2013. Outback Bowl: South Carolina vs. Michigan.
If the first shot in the Battles of Lexington and Concord is referred to as the “Shot Heard Round the World,” then Jadeveon Clowney’s explosion into the Michigan Backfield should be referred to as the “Hit Heard Round the World.” This was a pivotal moment in the game not only because South Carolina was trailing the Wolverines late in the fourth quarter, but also because the turnover came just moments after the referees awarded Michigan a somewhat unbelievable first down. Michigan went for it on fourth down, only to be stopped inches short. Except the only people that disagreed were the ones that mattered – the referees. Clowney’s hit not only awed millions of people watching, but turned things around for the Gamecocks who ended up winning the game. The play was so significant and impressive that Clowney won an ESPY later that year.
